What's Happening at The Homeschool Book Shop?

November 14, 2009

November was to be a quiet month...so I planned, but God in His wisdom didn't check MY plan and November has been busy, busy! Between events, we have added staff, more inventory and the Garage Sale Room.

The new faces behind the counter are by far the most exciting thing for me! I can't imagine how I ever managed without Cindy, Wendi, Kailey, Karen & Tanya! They have added spark, speed and efficiency. The summer was incredible and we received well over 100 boxes of fantastic inventory, but I was attempting to manage alone. Since, adding staff, we are able to get much more on the shelves and get more organization on the shelves. Also, what a blessing to have more folks to answer questions and show moms where they can find what they are looking for.

I continue to learn about homeschool options, curriculum, supplementary books & authors. Though the materials are important, one of the most exciting discoveries we are making is how many talented and experienced home educators are living right here in the greater Spokane area. Our goal is to have some of these engaging folks in to the shop in January.

We are making super headway on the summer's surplus, though we still have a long way to go. If you have consigned, you may or may not have sold books. If you haven't sold any books, it is more than likely because it is still waiting to be logged into the inventory. A huge thanks to our new staff! They are making up for lost time and we are filling our shelves with your things fast!

If you are like so many, we are gearing up for the holidays! Consider saving some money this year and shopping for slightly loved and gently used books, games and puzzles at The Homeschool Book Shop. If you know a homeschooler, parent, teacher or young reader, consider purchasing a Gift Certificate (available after Thanksgiving).
