THE HEART OF ART is a Biblical look at creativity in light of God's heart and character.
Come join us as we invest our time and effort to accentuate our God-given talents and bring glory to the Greatest Creator of all!

NOW REGISTERING: HEART of ART: Module One - [SIX WEEK CLASS]
Module one: The Power of Light – Reveal the human face by seeing & painting the highlights and shadows. Learn to paint from life, using water-mixable oil paints to create oil portraits without toxic chemicals or fumes. Learn to see the correlation between how light impacts and reveals the material world and how God’s light impacts and reveals things to us spiritually.
Ages 12 - 112 Homeschooled children and also adults/parents are encouraged to join!
$20 per week, per student. Please plan on attending all six weeks. FAMILY RATES: If a family has more than one student enrolled, the second student (immediate family) is $10 per week. Each third (or more) student from same family is $5 per week.
Tentative dates: Thursday October 22nd - November 26th. Noon to 2pm each Thursday.
Location: The Homeschool Book Shop on Wall Street, south of Francis. (Spokane, WA)
Requirements: must be an advanced or intermediate art student. This class will not teach basic art methods. Please come prepared by already having an understanding of basic principles of drawing or painting. (If you're unsure where you stand, email me with a sample or two of your work.)
We will work in a limited palette to minimize the amount of supplies you need to purchase. Please come with your own materials - - list of materials you'll need coming soon!

HEART OF ART Module Two: Dates to be announced. Must have completed Module One to join.Description of Module Two: Colors & Shapes – Mastering color harmonies and discords; understand the emotions and implied meanings of colors and shapes. We’ll be increasing our palette; you’ll be purchasing some new colors for your collection.
HEART OF ART Module Three: Dates to be announced. Must have completed Modules One and Two to join. Description of Module Three: Composing a Message – Using colors, shapes and composition for balance, harmony and to tell a story. Finding your own style. Learning to take excellently composed and lit photographs to use as reference for your painting. Lighting your work space.
