The Homeschool Book Shop Newsletter>
More Inventory
November 4, 2008
We are so grateful to the Homeschool PotPourri for their generosity in helping us fill our shelves! A third delivery in a rental truck has arrived! I am only waiting for my favorite worker bees (the hubby and the kids) to return home before unloading. I think this load has my personal favorites (lit, foreign languages and Bible). I have no doubt that it has the Hubby's favorite-history! It will be hard to work quickly to get it all on the shelves as it would be so much more fun to read as they go by, but alas, this is not my job for the moment.
A few comments on other subjects...It has been a somewhat swoopy ride over the last several weeks as the economy has jolted and, even as I type, the political environment looks as though it will take a large rolling jolt, too. It even seems that the weather is finally turning and rolling into the next season with a bit of a jolt (though much more beautiful than the other two jolts).
The changes serve to remind me that we are a people who are subject to an awesome and mighty God! I have thought many times about my first adventure bringing home inventory. The gracious family which was the unfortunate victim of my 16' moving truck, its bumper and its driver (me) who were offering me the encouragement that Job was able to bless the Lord and ultimately show faith in God in the face of adversity. I was so grateful for their encouragement and am clinging to this demonstration of trust in the midst of both blessing and trial.
"What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips." (Job 2:10)
This is a particularly important time for us to remain vigilant, pray, and seek the Lord with all of our beings for His protection and guidance as we seek to love Him through our training and teaching of our children in preparation for their futures here on earth and in heaven.
