This amazing class is the second class of its kind taught again by our own Mrs. Donna Kuhn.
It can be counted as a Semester Elective in Civics & Government for High School age
students. Mrs. Kuhn will be inviting many guests from our community and statewide who are
either running for public offices or are currently serving in public offices. The first class in
this series occurred in 2008 prior to the presidential elections. We are again facing another
pivotal year in our nation’s future.
Students will not only meet community leaders, but will have opportunities to write letters to
the editor, research issues and grow in their understanding of the democratic processes in
American government. We will possibly take a field trip the week of Wednesday, February
23, 2011 for Homeschool Day at the Capitol in Olympia, WA. The field trip details will be
announced in December.
Taken in conjunction with the second semester Constitution class (information below), the
student will be able to step closer to adulthood with greater knowledge and capability. We
are bringing in the next generation of decision-makers for our country. Join us in laying this
critical foundation!
