Introduction & Kick Off
11 May 2010
Join us and our guests Matt Shea, John Ahern, Rob Chase, Dave Stevens, Jeff Holy & More!
The Statesmanship Club is open to Adults and Young People ages 14+.
This weekend is the Kick Off of our Statesmanship Club, Friday May 14, Noon to 2pm at The Homeschool Book Shop. We will be reading through W. Cleon Skousen's The 5000 Year Leap. The Statesmanship Club will occur weekly at the same time and place. The topic will remain the same until we have completed this book.
At first not everyone will have the book so we will be discussing principles in the book using the summary of principles.
A summary of the principles can be seen here: (we will also have printouts of the principles available)
http://www.learntheconstitution.com/five-thousand-year-leap.html
The first topic will be Natural Law which is the first principle in the book. We will also be discussing terms... Looking up words we don't understand in Webster's 1828 Dictionary... http://www.1828-dictionary.com/
Principle 1 - The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is Natural Law.
Natural law is God's law. There are certain laws which govern the entire universe, and just as Thomas Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence, there are laws which govern in the affairs of men which are "the laws of nature and of nature's God."
A Guide is available at

If you can help us to understand concepts like natural law and other terms that we are defining that would be a great help to our discussion.
We have also invited other candidates and people who are working to promote liberty to attend this Kick Off and the Garage Sale Event.
